The University of Texas at El Paso officially breaks ground on a $60 million facility that will house the College of Health Sciences and the School of Nursing at 11:30 am Friday, Nov. 14, 2008.
The $130,000-square-foot building, at the corner of Sun Bowl Drive and Schuster Avenue, will include classrooms, research space and video technology. A special feature of the building is a 16,000-square-foot clinical learning center where students will be able to train on state-of-art equipment such as interactive patient simulators.
UTEP’s undergraduate health sciences and nursing programs are currently in the Health Sciences Building on Campbell Street Downtown. They will be relocated to the main campus after the new building opens in spring 2011.
