The Rubin Center is a 14,700 square foot historic campus building with more than 3,500 square feet of exhibition space.
Historical high points of the Rubin Center include:
1927 – The original building was constructed in UTEP's trademark Bhutanese style as a laboratory and classroom facility for the metallurgy and chemistry departments.
1928 – Named for William H. Seamon, a UTEP geology and mining professor from 1918-1927.
1938 – The Works Progress Administration (WPA) completed a 6000 square foot addition, doubling the size of the existing building.
2004 – The Stanlee and Gerald Rubin Center for the Visual Arts, a 2.1 million dollar project, was created with the expansion and renovation of Seamon Hall.
