The University of Texas at El Paso UTEP Library Atrium

Atrium

The University Library may not remind you of others that you have visited. The voices of collaboration fill the expanse.

The large open area, in combination with artistic conversation pieces and the centrally located Jazzman’s coffee shop, make the atrium a popular hub for central campus.

The atrium houses one of the University’s collection of tapestries sewn by Buddhist monks in Thimphu, the capitol of Bhutan, as well as a Bhutanese altar that was a gift to the University from Bhutan. The world’s largest book, which weighs 133 pounds and measures 5-by-7 feet is also on display.
